It doesn't require installation and is free to use for personal and business.įor permanent every solution has some security risks. Where as LMI and Central was more along the lines of a one to many support tool using central management.ĭo you want permanent access or just ad-hoc as requested? Permanent is convenient but usually requires a more expensive suite and some people don't like the access you may have.įor ad-hoc Aero Admin seems pretty usable and is very easy to set up. The reality is that TV feels like it was built as a one to one support tool and central management (policies etc) were add ons thrown in to help sell the product. You can have granular controls that would only allow members of particular security groups to be able to access a machine. Windows authentication was also far better on LMI. You cant stop a user shutting the application down or even removing it (no need to be an admin). However TV's idea of policies for OSX machines is junk. TV performance on OSX clients was much better than LMI, particularity if you ever had to connect to 5k iMacs. We often find clients that dont update their policies correctly. Used logmein (and Central) for around 3 years prior to that with a similar number of devices.ĭay to day performance between LMI and TV was around the same however the LMI host service was far more stable, once it was installed you could just forget about it. Been using Teamviewer on a corporate license for about 15months now.
